Utilization of chitosan which has close links with the waste water purification process. The purpose of this research is to study the quality of wastewater and the potential of chitosan as a water purifier. The results of the analysis of the quality of water without the chitosan can be seen that, the value of the turbidity of 40 NTU, the temperature of 31.4 oC, pH 7.62, DO 6.3 mg/L, BOD 27,1 mg/L. the Addition of chitosan will be able to reduce levels of pollutants, the results of the study showed that the addition of chitosan, having a degree of turbidity which is better on the testing with the concentration of chitosan 10 %, because of some of the test results, the concentration of chitosan 10 % has a level of turbidity that is the most low of 5.15 NTU, so that the turbidity levels are low, the light will be easy to get in the water.
