Waters of the coastal area of the island is densely packed with a vast ocean, many ecosystems are marine resources potential, one of which is a seagrass ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to determine the nitrate content in the water knowing densely packed island and determine the relationship of nitrate content on the growth of seagrass Cymodocea serrulata. The research method is a method dilakukaan tagging (marking methods). The data collection method seagrass transects. For each research station there are 5 pieces made transects perpendicular towards the sea. Each transect was taken 6 stands of seagrass that starts from the coast towards the sea, while the nitrate data collection is taken at each transect. From the research data, the rate of growth of seagrass at station I of 0.21 cm / day, II stations of 0.26 cm / day and III stations of 0.24 cm / day. Length growth relative to station I by 0.88 cm / week, station II at 1.44 cm / week and III stations of 1.12 cm / week. Growth in the average length of 0.46 cm station I, station II was 0.52 cm and 0.48 cm III station. And nitrate content in the waters of the island densely packed at station I station II at 0.257 at 0.638 and station III 0.513. From the data obtained the nitrate content is very influential on the growth of seagrass, a high nitrate content at station II also led to high growth of seagrass at station I station II while on seagrass growth because of low nitrate content obtained is also low.
