Waters of the island is densely packed coastal areas where there are lots of marine ecosystem resources, one of which is a seagrass ecosystem. Seagrass is an ecosystem that is very important because it has a high biodiversity. The purpose of this study was to determine the nitrate content in the water knowing densely packed island and determine the relationship of nitrate content on the growth of seagrass Cymodocea rotundata. The research method is a method tagging (marking methods). The data collection method seagrass transects. For each research station there are 5 pieces made transects perpendicular towards the sea. Each transect was taken 6 stands of seagrass that starts from the coast towards the sea, while the nitrate data collection is taken at each transect. From the data generated in the underlying study, the rate of growth of seagrass at station 1 of 0.21 cm / day, 2 stations of 0.27 cm / day and 3 stations of 0.25 cm / day. Length growth relative to station 1 of 0.61 cm / week, 2 station by 1.34 cm / week and 3 stations of 1.14 cm / week. Growth in the average length of 0.45 cm station 1, station 2 and station by 0.51 cm by 0.43 cm 3. And nitrate content in the waters of the island densely packed at station 1 station 2 at 0.257 at 0.638 and 0.513 at station 3. From the results of nitrate and seagrass growth was already evident that greatly affect the nitrate content for seagrass growth. High nitrate makes the better growth of seagrass.
