Tanjung Lanjut is an area located in the Gulf waters Bintan which has quite a lot of activity, namely mining, marine trasnport activities, settlement activities and shipyard activity. This is the one that can provide inputs of pollutants into waters. Seagrass Enhalus acoroides are plants that live in the sea and are found in the waters of Tanjung Lanjut. The use of it can be used as bio-indicators in pollution because it can accumulate contaminant material without he himself was killed. One of these pollutants are heavy metal Pb and Cd.
The results showed that the average content of heavy metals in the seagrass Pb ranged from 0.1088 mg / L – 0.1915 mg / L and the heavy metals Cd on seagrasses ranged from 0.3907 mg / L – 0.4536 mg / L, while for the sea water content of the average for Pb ranged from 0.0274 mg / L – 0.0486 mg / L and Cd is 0.0926 mg / L – 0.1289 mg / L. In the seagrass plant uptake of heavy metals Pb and Cd was highest in the roots. The content has passed the quality standard limits are 0.008 mg / L for Pb and 0.001 mg / L for Cd metal.
The results of the analysis on Enhalus acoroides can be used as bio-indicators to describe the condition of the waters of Tanjung Lanjut contaminated by heavy metals.
